Billy saw the sign British fare and stopped in his tracks.

Since he had arrived in New Orleans Dom had had him trying all sorts of concoctions like jumbalaya and gumbo and fuck knows what else. The lure of fish and chips or bangers and mash had him almost running into the pub.

So far that night, business was slow and there were only a few regulars sitting at the bar and abount the tables through the rest of the pub. A couple was enjoying the quiet to play a relaxing game off snooker in the back and Naveen was using the time to catch up on an order he needed to send out the next morning. He had his foot propped up on a small box behind the bar and was leaning against the flat surface as he crunched numbers in his head, only pausing to glance up when he saw the door open and light spill in from outside.

A ready smile lit his face as he looked over the other man… )

Josh hadn't been back to The Pub since over a month ago, when Naveen had brought him back to his apartment over top. But tonight he needed a beer, and his legs had for some unknown reason steered him to this place. Well, okay, maybe he did know. And it wasn't like he couldn't get sex elsewhere, in fact, he was doing just fine on that front, so this recent fascination with Naveen had to come from something other than sex. Josh just wasn't quite ready to admit that.

Naveen was just coming out of the kitchen when he glanced through the pub, stopping when he saw a familiar face as it came through the door. His cock twitched in memory of the night he'd shared with Josh and he had to school himself to settle down. Smoothing down his trousers, he also couldn't help but flash back to a few weeks ago when he'd seen how close Josh had been getting with Sean. What the hell had been up with that anyway?

Josh, too, was unable to keep his body from reacting at the sight of Naveen coming into the pub from the back… )

I've not seen Josh since the night of the White Linen Night. Well, actually, that's not entirely true. I saw him with someone on a boat and they were getting way too cosy. Why it should matter to me, I'm not sure. But when I saw them, I was not happy. Josh and I have nothing together. Hell, I don't even need anyone, really. So why does it bother me so much? And the question comes to mind: did I totally fuck up our friendship? Well, only time will tell. That is _if_ he ever shows up to The Pub again.

In othner news, I saw someone I thought I'd not see around town a couple weeks ago. Niki and I worked on several missions and jobs together over the years. It was almost like old times while we were knocking some sense into a couple drunks that had decided to harass her. However, there's something that worries me about seeing her here. I'm not sure what it is yet; we didn't get time enough to chat. I will find out, though. I'm going to call her; we do have to catch up, after all. I hope she's doing all right.

I need to get down to the bar. Vivi called in sick...again. I'm going to have to get someone in here on a part-time basis, I think to fill in her shifts because she is just not reliable. Perhaps even full-time as business may not be up to what it was before Katrina, but it is picking up a bit. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see what happens.

Warning: Slight violence

When Niki reached the bar she looked through the door, the number of people milling around made her wonder if she'd be able to see the woman she was looking for easily. With a sigh and look of cool nonchalance she entered, eyes immediately scanning the room for the redhead in a green jacket. She didn't expect the woman to be there yet, but you never knew. Niki wasn't in the habit of arriving anywhere 'on time' usually preferring to be early, out of habit.

Once she'd confirmed the woman wasn't there yet... )

The streets were crowded, even for New Orleans at night. Josh had missed the festival the past couple of years, but he liked art more than most people would guess, and he definitely liked the possibility of free food and alcohol. Josh didn't wear a ton of white, but he was able to drudge up a pair of white jeans from the back of his closet and paired it up with a plain white dress shirt, short-sleeved and unbuttoned all the way down to block out the ungodly heat. He had just left the second gallery of the evening, having finished a complimentary glass of Sauvignon Blanc, when he spotted a familiar face.

You look good in white, Andrews… )
